Matiullah Comrade Khattak of Peshawar and Ali Jan from Buner visited the Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) in Attock City today and met the CPP Chairman Engineer Jameel Ahmad Malik in the CPP Secretariat.
Matiullah Comrade Khattak and Ali Jan highlighted all those problems which an ordinary citizen and downtrodden masses are now facing in the Khyber Pakhtun Khwa (KPK) province. They also discussed matters of international affairs like coup in Turkey and matters of national importance like Kalabagh Dam and China Pakistan Economic Corridor were also discussed with the CPP Chairman.
The China Pakistan Economic Corridor ( پاكستان-چین اقتصادی راہداری ), often referred as CPEC, is a collection of projects currently under construction at a cost of $46 billion, which is intended to rapidly expand and upgrade Pakistani infrastructure, as well as deepen and broaden economic links between Pakistan and the People’s Republic of China.
Matiullah Comrade Khattak and Ali Jan both for dissatisfied from the Federal Government for not including KPK in the CPEC.
Both of them said that various development projects have started in Punjab as part of CPEC and peoples of KPK have no objection to that. The only thing that becomes problematic is when the federal government deprives people from other provinces of their rights.
KPK has been badly affected due to militant insurgency and floods. The province lacks water for irrigation. The Chashma Right Bank Canal, which is a part of CPEC, should be built first, Matiullah Comrade Khattak desired so.
The CPP Chairman Engineer Jameel agreed with the Matiullah Comrade Khattak and Ali Jan and said that the CPEC project includes installation of fibre optic cables, railway tracks, gas and oil pipelines, among other facilities but there is nothing in the project for KPK except the highway which is highly regrettable.
