(ATTOCK – PR – September 10, 2015) The Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) and its Chairman Engineer Jameel Ahmad Malik paid a high tribute to Mr. Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja “as an upright and a Judge of highest integrity”, who retired yesterday midnight as the 23rd Chief Justice of Pakistan, says the press release issued here today.
Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) on Monday August 17 to serve in the exalted position for just 23 days until his retirement on Wednesday September 09, 2015.
During his short tenure as the Chief Justice of Pakistan, he has given many important judgments but the remarkable judgment by the outgoing CJP Mr. Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja was the one in which he declared Urdu as the official language of Pakistan, otherwise, this case was laying in cold storage since 2003.
“This judgment would certainly help the common men and downtrodden masses to compete with the elite and bourgeoisie classes in education and in other day to day matters of life” as stressed by the CPP Chairman Engineer Jameel.
His other important judgments which Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja delivered were in the case of Katuchi Abadi, against ex-NAB chief Admiral Fasih Bukhari for ‘favouring’ property tycoon Malik Riaz, Advocate Syed Ali Zafar and in some other land scams cases of Baluchistan, Defence Housing Authority and Bahria Town.
Communist Party of Pakistan firmly believe that all the Institutions of the Government like Supreme Court and others depend purely on the political system of the country and the present Supreme Court being part of the bourgeoisie system of our country could not play a pivotal role in providing justice to the poor and downtrodden masses of Pakistan and this fact was also admitted by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja in his Farewell Address yesterday.
Nevertheless, the CPP has an experience of appearing before the various Judges of the Supreme Court in its Constitutional Petitions. CPP Chairman Engineer Jameel Malik has appeared daily for more than four months in one of our party High Treason case against General (Retd) Pervaz Musharraf in 2013 before the bench of Mr. Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and our party Chairman found Mr. Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja as very hardworking, intelligent, honest, bold and upright Judge of highest integrity.
