Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) elect its new Secretary General Meraj Gul Khattak unanimously after the resignation of the outgoing General Secretary Dr. Bashir H. Shah.
CPP Chairman Engineer Jameel Ahmad Malik lauded the services of the Ex-Secretary General Dr. Bashir H. Shah rendered for the party and for the cause of socialist ideology.
CPP Chairman welcomed the new Secretary General and said that Meraj Gul Khattak is not only a committed party activist but a born Communist from a family of Village Nazimpur in Tehsil and Distt Nowshera.
Meraj Gul Khattak is a well known political activist and trade unionist from Khyber Pukhtoon Khawa (KPK) and from 1982 to 2006, he remained in the Central leadership of the All Pakistan Wapda Labour Union of Tarbela Dam.
He was born in year 1951 and got his early education from Govt High School, Akora Khattak. Before elected as General Secretary, he was the Vice-Chairman of the Communist Party.
The new Secretary General of CPP in his address vehemently stressed for the ‘Left Unity’ of all the Progressive and Leftist Parties on one platform so as to fight collectively against the religious terrorism and to bring a ‘Socialist Revolution’ in Pakistan.
