About Eid-al-Fitr
Muslims across the globe celebrates Eid-al-Fitr after the holy month of Ramadan. The word Eid means “festivity” or “celebration,” while fitr means “ to break the fast” as per the Arabic dialect. After a month of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid-al-Fitr that mark the end of the 29th or 30th days fasting and farewell to the Ramadan month which, in Islam, is the most blessed and valuable of all the months. It won’t be wrong to say that the spirit of Eid lies in the beautiful traditions and thoughtful customs followed religiously by the Muslims all over the world. Eid al-Fitr has a particular Salat (Islamic prayer) and after offering Salat they hug and say EID MUBARAK to each other and during Eid, Muslims give gifts to their near and dear ones, wear new cloths, and donate to the needy and poor. All Muslims in this auspicious day greet and hug each other in the spirit of peace and love.
